What do you think? I don’ t mind it. Looks better than the current Outback IMO.

Sounds like the name of some gaming PC. But yeah definitely see the Crosstrek influence

I’m not mad at it but I’m still upset.

Maybe if it doesn’t sell they’ll change the name to Taurus.

Taurus X

Yeah, I don’t hate it. If it were just a Mond eo wagon with a baby lift and some cladding, that would be cool with me.

that has to be one of the weakest photochops I’ve seen. it’s literally as if they just took a picture of the Edge and pancaked it a little.

I think the Mondeo Estate is getting the “Active” treatment and that is the car likely c oming to the US (assuming the rumor is true) . It would look more like the V90 CC but Ford-ifie d since Ford is still using Aston/JLR/Volvo cues.

It's more like a Crosstek than an Outback.
![]() 07/18/2018 at 15:46 |

yeah - rear 3/4 looks like a Crosstrek
![]() 07/18/2018 at 15:46 |

Autocar did a pretty beefy render too:

Can’t comment on the quality of the render myself, but I have a feeling that’s exactly what Ford is going to do in real life, instead of maybe lifting the Fusion.

Definitely seeing that. They might just lower the Ford Edge or lift the Mondeo estate like others have mentioned and might not look like this at all
![]() 07/18/2018 at 15:59 |

I really hope it looks more like this, but lifted 1 inch

I think the photoshopper stole the fender trim, and roof rails off one too, the tailights in the rear shot are from an Edge, but the front 3/4 view looks just like a Crosstrek

Ford has a habit of “thickening” their crossovers, they’re a lot taller in cross section than just a “jacked up
wagon”.
The Outback, on the other hand, is just a jacked up wagon. The seating is more stretched out than vertical. The cargo area is shorter in height than the Flex.
Want proof?
A lowered Outback looks more like a wagon:
A lowered Edge still looks like a crossover:
All that being said, I hope the make it a “jacked up wagon” instead. Our outback is far lighter and more efficient than our Edge was.

Its a Crosstrek with the nose and butt of an Edge stapled to it.

Only downside is owning one will make you ‘bicurious’.

So, it’s a Crosstrek?
[garble arlgle bargle owns Gen 5 Outback]

Me likey.
Moar lifted wagons please.
I also own an Outback (so I may be a bit biased).
...needs a bit more junk in the trunk though. That sloping rear roofline ain’t fitting too many grandfather clocks.

meh.

The Mondeo estate exists though, they should’ve photoshopped that instead.
